On a different Sunday: in the company, smelling the smell of wood and the scent of novelty. On November 26 th, Veneta Sedie opened the doors to 70 visitors in the occasion of Open Factory, the largest opening of manufacturing tourism, with 50 companies in the area that have globally opened the doors of the "know-how" to more than 4000 people.
The afternoon began with a visit to the production plant, where the great organizational change that the company is implementing following the reducing waste way through the construction of a streamlined process was highlighted. The principle of safeguarding the environment, love and respect for nature are at the core of any activity as well as fundamental values promoted and disclosed by Veneta Sedie.
In the last year we have also concretely committed ourselves to a path of sustainability by adhering to various initiatives: an example is the planting of a wood adjacent to one of the plants, or the development of a design workshop open to young designers from all over Italy, called to design "The good chair", a chair born from production waste, presented on the occasion of this Open Factory.
The essential question " Can we will produce without waste?" has a positive answer, as Marco Bettiol and Eleonora Di Maria, both professors at the University of Padua, commented during the speech in the second part of the afternoon. There is, infact, a new type of business approach that aims to reduce waste, reuse a product by extending its life and recycle unused waste: this is the concept of circular economy.
Just with our young ten talented designers we have confirmed the possibility of a development project in this way: all they tried to invent new uses, reposition old materials, re-enter the waste into the production cycle. Sustainable design has been created, creating innovative and functional products.
Every project deserved attention and consideration, but one in particular, for the philosophy that embrace, won the technical jury #oltreillegno award: Jiro. Eva and Amalio, the winners, exposed and talked about their idea that made possible to create "The good chair" prototype, applauded and admired by all those who attended Veneta Sedie Open Factory.
Sunday ended with a collective drink while savoring some Pane Quaglia products, excellence in our territory.
The hope is to always convey the values we firmly believe in, the enthusiasm in the transformation that has been accompanying us these months, and how important is never forget the delicate balance between man and nature.
Let's not forget that if trees can live without man, the opposite is not true.
